Requesting human marking
How to ask an instructor to mark a submission, how long it takes and what you receive.

Human marking means a qualified instructor reviews your submission against the same criteria as AI marking and writes personal feedback.
How to request it
- Submit your attempt.
- On the feedback page choose Request human marking.
- If you have a marking pack or a plan that includes it, one credit is used. If you do not, we show your options. You will always see what is used before you confirm.
Turnaround
Our target is five working days from the request. The page shows the status (requested, assigned, in progress, completed) and the due date. If the target is at risk, we tell you.
What you receive
Criterion-by-criterion scores and comments, an overall summary and suggestions for your next attempt. Feedback is educational and is not an official SQE mark.
Cancelling
You can cancel a request before an instructor starts it, and the credit is returned. Once marking has started, it cannot be cancelled.
Who sees your work
Only the instructor assigned to mark it, and only for that purpose.
All scores and feedback are practice results and educational guidance. They are not official SQE marks and they do not predict whether you would pass the real assessment.
